Current TV

Published by ADQ at 4:41 am under TV

Current is the name of an actual TV station which offers its viewers the opportunity to interact online. Think: Television meets YouTube and hangs out with Digg.

Everything from the content to the ads are created by the viewers, which makes it raw and whimsical and a hell of a lot more real than most reality television you see on cable networks. While the spots may not not be created by professional journalists, writers, and technicians, I’m willing to forgo some of the spit and polish for a chance at some real news. (I’m looking at YOU, Fox News).

Today through April 25, Current has asked for submissions specifically addressing the topic of Earth Day:

Answer one or more of the following questions and get on Current TV. 1/ Who needs a green makeover? Who or what organization do you want to see change and why? 2/ What is the most ridiculous excuse you have heard or given (for why you aren’t living sustainable) 3/ Tell us the easiest way to save the world 4/ Who is your eco hero, and why? 5/ What’s in the way of you making the change you want to make? 6/ When did you “turn”? When did you know that you were an environmentalist? 7/ What gives you hope?

Check out the submissions as they land on the website. And to see Current on the boob tube, tune in at:

DirecTV: Channel 366

Dish Network: Channel 195

Comcast: Channel 107 or 125

Time Warner Digital: See local
