The Black and White Years
There are a million indie bands out there, but The Black and White Years are one of a very few that have managed to rise above the rest and gain recognition on a national level. The band is from Austin, Texas, which you may recognize as the home of the ACL and SXSW festivals–and one of the hottest scenes for indie musicians. So being named Best New Local Band of 2008 by the Austin Chronicle and Music Guru Andy Langer is nothing to sniff at.
TB&WY will be touring the northeast U.S. for the first time in May this year. Tour dates are available on their MySpace page, as are samples of their music including the single Power to Change from their new upcoming release.
